Scuba diving in the sea around the Boso Peninsula

It is the best season for scuba diving in Japan now.

Scuba diving definitely offers me vibrant adventures under the sea, where I can relax, leaving my worries behind.

I went scuba diving several times at Hazama Underwater Park, a diving spot located on the Boso Peninsula.

These days, a couple of dolphins can be seen in the sea around Hazama. It is said that they moved around here from Hatsushima Island.

At Hazama Under water Park, you can visit Susaki Shrine to pray for eternal safety during your scuba diving adventures.

You won't miss meeting Kobudai or Asian sheepshead wrasse around there.

You can buy a talisman, if you like.

This is the good-luck talisman which has protected me from evil under the sea since I started scuba diving twenty years ago.

A few years ago, a whale shark was caught in a fishing net. After several months,

it was released into the sea.

Here are another scuba diving spots on the Boso Peninsula I have been to these ten years.

At Nishikawana Ocean Park, you will be definitely captivated by Higedai whose whiskers under the mouth are so distinctive.

I went scuba diving on Ito, where you can meet hundreds of sharks. You can feed them if you like.

Sharks used to damage fishing nets until fishermen lured them to the area with food.

Now it has become one of the Boso Peninsula’s most attractive diving spots.

Last year I went to Kumejima Island, about 100km west of Naha, Okinawa Island.

You can encounter manta rays there.
